She said her other choice was David <br /> Roth. <br /> Chair Bedford said she also supported Monica Palmeira. <br /> The Board agreed by consensus to appoint Monica Palmeira <br /> Commissioner Portie-Ascott suggested Shahnaz GiGi Rashdi and Alicia Reid. <br /> Chair Bedford suggested Alicia Reid and Thomas Grasty. <br /> Commissioner Fowler said she also liked Shahnaz GiGi Rashdi. <br /> Tara May said that the Advisory Board on Aging is considering making a recommendation <br /> for Shahnaz GiGi Rashdi to fill a future vacancy on their board. <br /> Vice-Chair Greene asked if Shahnaz GiGi Rashdi had indicated that the Aging board was <br /> her first choice. <br /> Tara May said yes. <br /> Vice-Chair Greene said that was important information for her when deciding on filling <br /> vacancies, and that's why she didn't choose Shahnaz GiGi Rashdi for the Affordable Housing <br /> Advisory Board. <br /> The Board agreed by consensus to appoint Alicia Reid. <br /> 4. Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool —Appointments Discussion <br /> The Board discussed appointments to the Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool. <br /> BACKGROUND: The charge of the Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool is to hear appeals <br /> concerning violations of the Orange County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 4 ("Animal Control <br /> Ordinance"), as provided in the Orange County Code of Ordinances, Section 4-53 Appeals, and <br /> also potentially dangerous dog appeals as prescribed by North Carolina General Statute §67- <br /> 4.1(c). It is the responsibility of pool members to conduct fair and impartial hearings for these <br /> appeals and members will receive training in both law and proper procedure prior to participating <br /> in a hearing. <br /> The Board of County Commissioners appoints twelve (12) members, with representation from <br /> various fields.
