92 <br /> Neighborhood Information Meeting Report Form <br /> REPORT OF INFORMATION MEETING REQUIRED BY <br /> THE ORANGE COUNTY UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE <br /> To: Ashley Moncado, Planner III <br /> Project Name: Judea Reform Congregation Cemetery expansion <br /> Approximate Location (or Address): 2560 Jones Ferry Road, Chapel Hill, NC <br /> Proposed Number Lots: 1 Residential (Y/N): N <br /> The undersigned hereby certifies that the required sign(s) was posted on the property proposed <br /> for project, on each road frontage of said project on (date) Feb 29, 2024 A photo of the <br /> sign posted is recommended to be attached to this form. <br /> The meeting was held at the following time and place: Judea Reform Congregation Cemetery, <br /> 2560 Jones Ferry Road, Chapel Hill, NC on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 3pm. <br /> The persons in attendance at the meeting: See attached Attendance sheet <br /> The following issues were discussed at the meeting (Attach additional sheet(s) if needed): <br /> • We talked about the history and current operation of the Cemetery. <br /> • We described that there are no plans to change the operation of the Cemetery, and there <br /> is no expectation of an increase in the rate of annual burials. <br /> • We showed a map of the preliminary plans, described how some plots will be in the <br /> woods and some in lawn areas, where the construction equipment will enter the site, <br /> what noise to expect. <br /> • We described the SUP process and the opportunity for neighbor input at the BOA <br /> hearing. <br /> • There were 3 main concerns voiced by the two neighbors who attended the meeting: <br /> 1. Concern about embalming fluid entering the ecosystem. <br /> Response: Embalming is prohibited at the Cemetery <br /> 2. Concern about closures on Jones Ferry Road during construction. <br /> Response: We don't anticipate the need to close Jones Ferry Road, although <br /> there may be one or two short periods when Jones Ferry Road will have a <br /> flagman and only one lane of traffic. <br /> 3. Concern that we will be cutting down all the trees. <br /> Response: We are working with an arborist to protect as many trees as <br /> possible, will have many burials in wooded areas, and are leaving substantial <br /> wooded buffers on the perimeter of the project. <br /> As a result of the meeting, the following changes were made to the project proposal (Attach <br /> additional sheet(s) if needed): None, as the neighbors indicated that their concerns were <br /> being addressed as the project is currently planned. <br /> Date: March 20, 2024 <br /> Applicant: _ } <br /> By: Bruce J Boehm co-Presi ent <br /> Please submit this Report to the Orange County Planning Department located at 131 W. <br /> Margaret Lane or mail it to Ashley Moncado, at 131 W.
