16
1 translation services at the county. Certainly, the packet can't be translated. We are working, and we did provide translated materials,
2 and we're working with a new vendor to try to be more nimble, but we have no internal resources to provide that service, and we're
3 seeking external resources as best we can. We're trying to meet that request and that public request, not just for this board but for all
4 the work we do.
5
6 Leon Meyers: I understand. Thank you.
7
8 Beth Bronson: And I would just say those attachments for Agenda No. 5, those could be posted on the Board of Adjustment
9 website.
10
11 Cy Stober: I also want to be clear that we have spent significant resources in translating all applications and making sure that
12 our website is all translatable. There are some challenges with our permitting portal, but we have translated materials for all of our
13 standing applications. For the more customized materials, such as public notifications, again, it's more about the timing. It's not
14 about the cost. So, let me make that clear. It's about being, staying on the time line for the project at hand, and I think also lessons
15 learned, is how can we anticipate that need and have that vendor set up to meet it without having internal resources here at the
16 county similar to what we needed to do for interpretive services at the hearing itself, and we're kind of,we're trying to problem solve
17 that, but it's more a matter of timing than the actual putting it all together. Just wanted to be clear on that.
18
19 Patrick Mallett: I said at the beginning which is we just have the notices. There's a statement that we've now crafted in Spanish.
20 You can request translation or interpretation services.
21
22 Beth Bronson: Should you want to know more, please contact for bilingual services. I think that is fantastic because it could be on
23 a case-by-case basis.
24
25 Patrick Mallett: It's not necessary or needed to or wanted it every single case. But we please ask for that two weeks in advance of
26 the stated meeting.
27
28 Leon Meyers: All right. Any other business? We are adjourned.
29
30 AGENDA ITEM 6:ADJOURNMENT
31 The meeting was adjourned at 8:47 p.m.
32
33
34 LEON MEYERS,CHAIR
35
