We would be
proposing to remove the eastern entrance and just use the western one. I added an alternative
hammerhead turnaround for fire truck access, which can also be used to serve some overflow
parking areas around its perimeter.
Cy, I assumed from your previous email that you might have swapped the entrances. The 72" and
24" trees should no longer be a concern with this option.
Please let me know your thoughts and we'll incorporate this change into the plans.
Thanks,
Bobby
From: Cy Stober<cstober(@orangecountync.gov>
Sent:Thursday, August 10, 2023 11:43 AM
To: Robert Tucker<bobby(@bodhilandanddesign.com>; D'Angelo Jones Contact
<diiones1(@ncdot.gov>; Brian Collie<bcollie(@orangecount)Jnc.gov>
Cc: Chuck Edwards Contact<cnedwards(@ncdot.gov>;Taylor Perschau
<tperschau(@orangecountync.gov>; Patrick R. Some additional rationale would be helpful, D'Angelo.
Bobby—I am uncertain how you could provide that driveway, though, without removal of the legacy
trees. I am not happy to state the fact, but both the 72" oak and 24" maple are well within the sight
triangles and present safety concerns. I am not seeing anything in the exchange below regarding a
median to restrict turn movements and presume it is not needed.
Thank you to you both,
Cy Stober
Planning & Inspections Director
