Highway 54 West, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and being identified for tax purposes as
Orange County Parcel Number 9820508290 (the "Property"). I am reaching out to you because you either
attended or were invited to attend a community meeting at the Eddy Pub back on May 24, 2023, to discuss the
plans that The Nest has for the Property, and, for its application to Orange County for a Special Use Permit to
establish a Camp and Retreat Center as those uses are defined and regulated by the Orange County Unified
Development Ordinance in sections 5.7.5 and 5.18.4, respectively ("UDO").
This letter is intended as both an update and an invitation to continue reaching out to me with questions,
concerns and ideas for ways to improve on The Nest's vision for a community gathering space. Since our May
meeting, we have continued to engage community members with feedback on the proposed Camp and Retreat
Center, and even accommodated another small gathering in June at Blawesome Farm,at which interested parties
who wanted to discuss and learn more gathered for helpful and productive conversation. We appreciate those
that reached out to our team to set a date and organize that meeting. We continue to welcome those discussions
and encourage you to give us the opportunity to talk through any lingering or new thoughts you have on the
project. We are aiming to submit our final package to the Orange County Planning Department sometime in
mid-August, and continue to tweak and refine the plan in advance of final submission. This means there is still
opportunity for your input to be considered and implemented.
Our enthusiasm for this Property and this project only continues to grow and we are happy to listen and
work with Our community and neighbors to ensure that The Nest reflects the type of place we all want our
community to be. We sincerely appreciate those of you who took the time to attend the May meeting, to offer
feedback and to follow up. We hope to hear more.
1 invite you to contact me by email at rilni,a.?vernonlaw.com, or by phone at 336.222.5901.
Very truly yours,
Ryan D.
