The proposed uses include a athletic club and <br />baseball and softball fields, US 70 Alternate and Lawrence Road – <br />Orange County <br />Thank you for allowing the Transportation Planning Division to review the project proposal. In <br />reviewing the information, below are some plan updates and recommendations. <br />The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO) adopted <br />their 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) in February 2022. The MTP report, maps <br />and Amendments are at the following DCHC MPO website: 2050 Metropolitan Transportation <br />Plan | Durham Chapel Hill Carrboro MPO, NC (dchcmpo.org). <br />The 2017 DCHC MPO Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) was adopted in 2017. The <br />CTP report, maps and Amendments are at the NCDOT website http://tinyurl.com/DCHC-CTP. <br />The CTP recommends improving Lawrence Road to have 4’ wide paved shoulders. <br />There are no projects in the current 2024-2033 State Transportation Improvement Program <br />(STIP) in the project vicinity. <br />Please continue to consult and coordinate with NCDOT, DCHC MPO and Orange County as you <br />move forward with the proposed project.
