She said her other choice was David <br /> 9 Roth. <br /> 10 Chair Bedford said she also supported Monica Palmeira. <br /> 11 The Board agreed by consensus to appoint Monica Palmeira <br /> 12 Commissioner Portie-Ascott suggested Shahnaz GiGi Rashdi and Alicia Reid. <br /> 13 Chair Bedford suggested Alicia Reid and Thomas Grasty. <br /> 14 Commissioner Fowler said she also liked Shahnaz GiGi Rashdi. <br /> 15 Tara May said that the Advisory Board on Aging is considering making a recommendation <br /> 16 for Shahnaz GiGi Rashdi to fill a future vacancy on their board. <br /> 17 Vice-Chair Greene asked if Shahnaz GiGi Rashdi had indicated that the Aging board was <br /> 18 her first choice. <br /> 19 Tara May said yes. <br /> 20 Vice-Chair Greene said that was important information for her when deciding on filling <br /> 21 vacancies, and that's why she didn't choose Shahnaz GiGi Rashdi for the Affordable Housing <br /> 22 Advisory Board. <br /> 23 The Board agreed by consensus to appoint Alicia Reid. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 4. Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool —Appointments Discussion <br /> 26 The Board discussed appointments to the Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 BACKGROUND: The charge of the Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool is to hear appeals <br /> 29 concerning violations of the Orange County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 4 ("Animal Control <br /> 30 Ordinance"), as provided in the Orange County Code of Ordinances, Section 4-53 Appeals, and <br /> 31 also potentially dangerous dog appeals as prescribed by North Carolina General Statute §67- <br /> 32 4.1(c). It is the responsibility of pool members to conduct fair and impartial hearings for these <br /> 33 appeals and members will receive training in both law and proper procedure prior to participating <br /> 34 in a hearing. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 The Board of County Commissioners appoints twelve (12) members, with representation from <br /> 37 various fields.
