He said it does not change the Rural Buffer. He said <br /> 12 the Rural Buffer was not unanimously popular with the farming community. He said that this does <br /> 13 not infringe on property rights. He said this came out of the Planning Board with unanimous <br /> 14 support. He said the chippers that are used in grinding operations are the size of tractor and <br /> 15 trailer trucks. He said that is not what will be here. He said the applicant will be collecting, <br /> 16 combining, and shipping out. He said they should be open to operations that align with the intent <br /> 17 of the Rural Buffer. <br /> 18 Commissioner Hamilton said she is familiar with the Treeist company's work. She said <br /> 19 that she agrees with her colleagues, and it aligns with the intent of the Rural Buffer. She said she <br /> 20 is not concerned that they will end up with fast food in this area. She said that one of the unique <br /> 21 things about Orange County are all of the trees and supporting them is vital. <br /> 22 Commissioner Portie-Ascott said she was supportive of the proposal. She said she was <br /> 23 happy to hear that it would not create noise issues for neighbors. She said she is happy about <br /> 24 the jobs the business is providing to the community. She said that she is happy that it is consistent <br /> 25 with the intentions of the Rural Buffer. <br /> 26 Chair Bedford said they did receive comments from the Town of Chapel Hill. She said she <br /> 27 is happy if they do their recreational training on their property and not the county's. She said the <br /> 28 Town of Carrboro did not reply and there is no further need to consult with another entity at this <br /> 29 point. She said she listened to the link with the noise test and there could not be a better location <br /> 30 for this operation. She said that if the water is not drinkable, bottled can be done for the personnel. <br /> 31 She said that is manageable. She said it should not be a problem to do septic on site. She said <br /> 32 she was pleased to put the 10 acres to good quality work. <br /> 33 Vice-Chair Greene said one part of confusion is that they are changing the zoning from <br /> 34 Rural Buffer to something else. She said that the Planning Director explained that there is the <br /> 35 Rural Buffer, then there is the Rural Buffer Zone.
