121 <br /> US 70 Multimodal Corridor Study <br /> 5.3.1.4 Improve bicycle connectivity between residential and commercial centers in Hillsborough. <br /> A large proportion of the corridor's commuters live and work in Hillsborough.To induce mode-shift and reduce <br /> congestion, the plan proposes the following improvements to the bicycle network: <br /> o C.16.1: Add sharrows and signage to establish bike route on Torain Street between Faucette Mill Road and <br /> Rainey Avenue. <br /> o C.16.2: Add sharrows and signage to establish east-west bike route through Fairview Park from Rainey <br /> Avenue to NC 86. <br /> o C.16.3: Add sharrows and signage to establish a bicycle route on Hayes and Union Streets from West King <br /> Street to Cameron Street. <br /> o C.16.4: Add sharrows and signage to establish a bicycle route on Churton Street between Union Street <br /> and Margaret Lane. <br /> Relevant Plan Goals: <br /> Goal 2: Prioritize bicycle and pedestrian connectivity through the corridor. <br /> Goal 9: Improve multimodal access to jobs within the corridor. <br /> 5.3.1.5 Connect Eno River State Park to US 70 via bicycle infrastructure. <br /> To make active transportation a safer option to access recreation, the plan proposes building out the bicycle network to <br /> incorporate Eno River State Park: <br /> o D.15.1:Add sharrows and signage to establish bike route on Lawrence Road from US 70 to Palmers Grove <br /> Church Road. <br /> o E.7.1: Construct protected bike lane on Pleasant Green Road from US 70 to Cole Mill Road. <br /> o E.7.2: Add sharrows and signage to establish bike route on Cole Mill Road from Pleasant Green Road to <br /> the Eno River State Park entrance. <br /> Relevant Plan Goals: <br /> Goal 2: Prioritize bicycle and pedestrian connectivity through the corridor. <br /> Goal 11: Improve multimodal access to parks throughout the corridor. <br /> -, 1 <br /> 112 Recommendations <br />
