110 <br /> US 70 Multimodal Corridor Study <br /> / �%_IWL Goal 5: Prioritize pedestrian, bicycle, and transit connectivity within urban areas. <br /> WwAr <br /> Goal 6: Increase the comfort of non-automobile roadway users. <br /> 4AGoal 7: Work towards Vision Zero. <br /> 5.2.4 Additional Policies <br /> 5.2.4.1 Manage travel demand for future development in the Efland-Buckhorn-Mebane economic <br /> development area. <br /> To effectively manage the rapid growth in the Efland-Buckhorn-Mebane economic development area, the existing <br /> Management Plan must be updated on a regular basis: <br /> o B.3.1: Implement and regularly update the Efland-Buckhorn-Mebane Access Management Plan (updated <br /> 2019). <br /> Relevant Goals: <br /> Goal 1: Manage increasing vehicular traffic congestion, including auto, EMS, and freight. <br /> 5.2.4.2 Manage travel demand resulting from trips to and from schools. <br /> School traffic is a leading cause of queuing in the corridor and is therefore a significant strain on US 70's capacity. A <br /> detailed school study will be required to fully evaluate mitigation strategies: <br /> o D.3.1: Conduct NCDOT Municipal School Transportation Assistance (MSTA) school study to address <br /> circulation, queuing, and storage needs specific to Orange High and Middle School complex. <br /> Relevant Goals: <br /> Goal 1: Manage increasing vehicular traffic congestion, including auto, EMS, and freight. <br /> 101 Recommendations <br />
