Please describe, generally, your reasons for wanting to serve on the OWASA Board of <br /> Directors. <br /> I want to learn more about water and sewer issues as related to population growth in the area. I <br /> feel I have a good background by having a Master s degree and past participation on community <br /> boards. <br /> 2a. Please list/explain your experience, either professionally and/or from other <br /> boards/commissions that you have in the areas of budget, personnel, and management. <br /> I served on the Funds Distribution Committee for the United Way where we awarded funds <br /> based on performance. I was President of The Literacy Volunteers of America in my community <br /> which involved annual budgets including hiring staff. <br /> 2b. In addition to the experience listed in the question above, please list the <br /> work/volunteer experience/qualifications that would add to your expertise for this board. <br /> I monitored the meeting of a similar board which was tasked with water and sewer issues as part <br /> of LWV. <br /> I was on the board of a local LWV. <br /> 3. What do you understand OWASA's role to be regarding issues of growth and <br /> development? <br /> I assume growth and development have a huge impact on current and future concerns including <br /> the impacts of climate change. I do not have current knowledge of OWASA s role. I would guess <br /> the board alerts the communities in Orange County of the future impacts. <br /> 4. What do do you hope to accomplish if appointed? <br /> I hope to be a contributing member of the board. <br /> 5. Please indicate your availability to attend regularly scheduled meetings. <br /> I am available to attend regularly scheduled meetings plus any special meetings. I am retired. <br /> 6. How would your participation on this board contribute to the diversity of viewpoints? <br /> I have lived in several other states including Florida prior to moving to Chapel Hill. We might face <br /> a 1000 years rainfall in the future as Florida did last week.
