Orange County EMS Iran the <br />requisite PPE including t°espirator°s, protective snits, and gloves to f zlftll this regrtirement. This <br />equtipntent was purchased through the 2002 Department of Justice State Domestic Preparedness <br />Greta Progr°an: and the .2003 Department ofHomeland Securil)r State I-Iomelarzd Securihr Grant <br />Program. <br />Critical Benchmark 2-7 Portable or fixed Decontamination Systems <br />Objective 2-7a EMS <br />Capability to decontaminate 15 ambulatory patients and Snon-ambulatory an hour with <br />assistance of call in staff. Orange Countar EMS cannot meet this baseline capability at this time. <br />YVe are requesting purchasing one decontamination shelter rovith aceonrpanying water and <br />shelter heatw•s to assist us in meeting this baseline capability. <br />Ctitical Benchmark 2-10 Establish and ensures redundant communications <br />between health care facilities, state, and local health departments during <br />terrorist attack. <br />Objective 2-10a EMS <br />NC Medical Communications Nerivork (NCMCN) system. Orange Cozurty EMS ah~eadar has <br />NCMCN-capable UHR radios in all of om• Initial Response Vehicles (QRV). GVe are requuesting <br />funding to install NCMCN-capable UHF radios in our transport mnbularrce vehicles, <br />Critical Benchmark 2-5 Pharmaceutical Caches <br />Objective 2-Sa EMS <br />Development or maintenance of any pharmaceutical cache. This is a Flealth Depm'Unent <br />responsibility for Orange County and is being fulfilled by a separate, fiurding source.. <br />
