I plan to retire from my position as <br /> Director of Employee Health on June 30, 2024. <br /> Past Service on Orange County Advisory Boards: <br /> None <br /> Boards/Commissions applied for: <br /> Board of Health <br /> Please explain how your background, education and experience is relevant to this board <br /> I have been practicing medicine (cardiology, geriatrics, internal medicine)for the past 33 yrs in <br /> Orange County. I served on the faculty at UNC Sch000f Medicine for 20+ years including 5 <br /> years on the admissions committee. Prior to retiring from private practice I worked with the OC <br /> Dept on Aging on the OC MAP. Following my retirement from private practice cardiology in 2017 <br /> 1 joined Piedmont Health Services and worked in the PACE programs for 5 years before being <br /> asked to create an Employee Health &Wellness Clinic. In this position I have had the <br /> opportunity to work on some of the many policies in place pertaining to Employee Health & <br /> Wellness. I have also been responsible for keeping our staff informed regarding infectious <br /> diseases (mostly COVID & FLU) affecting our community. I have also served on the DEI <br /> Committee at Piedmont Health for the past 2+ years. <br /> Please explain your reasons for wanting to serve on this board <br /> As I retire I will have more time to engage in volunteer activities. I would like to be able to use <br /> my various prior experiences in medicine and related activities to serve and hopefully benefit my <br /> community. In addition to ensuring optimal health and safety of our community, I would also like <br /> to work toward maximizing equity in health care for marginalized groups in our community. <br /> How would your particpation on this board contribute to the diversity of viewpoints? <br />
