So far, I have lobbied state representatives and reviewed scholarships for <br /> nurses continuing their education on behalf of the NCNA. Equipped with the knowledge, <br /> skills, and abilities of a nurse, I hope to find new opportunities to positively impact the <br /> community. <br /> Prior to nursing school, I had extensive engagement in the local food community. As <br /> Assistant Manager and Food Outreach Coordinator for the Carrboro Farmers Market, I <br /> served in capacities impacting public health and welfare. I worked with the Orange County <br /> Partnership for Young Children to bring local produce into the Pre-K setting, and I <br /> facilitated healthy food demonstrations and education with Orange County Cooperative <br /> Extension, EI Centro Hispano, and others.
