Box 8181 <br /> Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> Dear Chair Bedford, <br /> At the December 8th, 2023 meeting of the Orange County Advisory Board on Aging they made <br /> several recommendations for board appointments. The board requests that the following <br /> recommendations be taken into consideration. The board request that the following persons be <br /> reappointed: <br /> The board requests that Jeff Charles be considered for appointment to a second term. He has been <br /> actively involved in the implementation of the 2022-27 Master Aging Plan by serving on the <br /> Transportation Workgroup. As a stroke survivor,he has provided a valuable perspective in many <br /> areas of the Aging Board's work. <br /> The board requests the appointment of Ann Bradford to her first full-term. She was first appointed <br /> to a partial term on 3/7/23. Ann is the Vice-Chair and if reappointed will become the board chair <br /> on July 1, 2024. Ann is actively engaged in the implementation of the 2022-27 MAP and serves on <br /> the Housing workgroup. She is also involved in the planning of the Direct Care Worker Awards <br /> annual event. <br /> The board requests the appointment of Sandy Walker for a second term. She has been actively <br /> involved in the implementation of the 2022-27 MAP and serves on the Community Support and <br /> Health Workgroup. <br /> At the April 9, 2024 meeting the board voted to recommend Jonathan Wilner and Shahnaz GiGi <br /> Rashdi be appointed to the board. Both candidates have attended a board meeting.
