2 <br /> 1. Clarification on the business classification of Piedmont Food Processing Center <br /> 2. Survey results from other Shared Incubator Kitchens operating in North Carolina <br /> 3. Suggestions for highlighting and enhancing Orange County-specific impacts <br /> 4. A proposal for instituting a future facility management contract that strengthens this public- <br /> private partnership and includes measurable goals as well as expected outcomes that <br /> benefit County farms and food businesses. <br /> Jonathon Smith, Mike Ortosky, Eric Hallman (PFPC Executive Director), Sue Ellsworth (PFPC <br /> Manager), and James Watts (PFPC Board Chair) will be present at the meeting to provide <br /> information. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Under the current agreement, the County is responsible for building and <br /> property maintenance as well as capital improvements as defined in the agreement. A copy of <br /> the current facility asset list identifying the County's equipment ownership and PFPC's property <br /> are provided as attachments. The County's Asset Management Services Department manages <br /> all relevant building and equipment needs using the same processes for other County assets. <br /> PFPC is allowed occasional use of the County's language translation services at no charge <br /> provided that such services are available. Other financial impacts are defined in the agreement <br /> and include the following language: "PFPC shall receive no monetary compensation for services <br /> provided pursuant to this Agreement. Full compensation and consideration to PFPC for its <br /> services shall consist of PFPC's access to and use of the Facility and Capital Equipment." <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal associated with this <br /> item. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br /> impact associated with this item. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: <br /> 1) Receive information on the Piedmont Food Processing Center; and <br /> 2) Consider providing feedback on recommendations regarding a future management <br /> services agreement. <br />
