If you drive in that area, you'll see this big gray <br />building going up and construction going on and <br />development going on for the industrial park that's <br />been developed there. <br />What about future development along the corridor So if the developer, say, five years down the line, <br />decides to put a hospital or some other traffic <br />generating development, including subdivisions, or a <br />commercial or something along the corridor, it gives <br />us leverage to the development review process to say, <br />hey developer, we have this adopted plan, you need <br />to do XYZ because of a locally adopted plan. Either <br />need to dedicate the land such that it can be built in <br />the future, or if it's a product of a traffic impact <br />analysis that they need to build one of those lanes or <br />something like that <br />What would encourage some analysis of signal timing <br />or other ways? <br />Signal timing requires a DOT warrant analysis for <br />signalization and traffic signals. Meaning, DOT will <br />require a detailed warrant analysis <br />What about schools along the corridor? NCDOT treats school differently according to state <br />law. <br />What can we do with the Study? Can we ask that <br />some of the recommendations be taken out? <br />we can only affect the Orange County portion, Town <br />approved plans fed this study. Not taken out, you can <br />make other recommendations (e.g. speeding in rural <br />Orange County). You cannot remove something that <br />others approve. <br />
