VHB compiled a list <br />of all issues and documented how the US 70 MCS Final Plan addresses them. The consultant is at <br />today’s meeting to present the Final plan for OUTBoard’s reconsideration. <br /> <br />Process to date: <br />• Summer 2022 – Notice to Proceed <br />• Summer – Winter 2022 – Existing Conditions and Market Analysis <br />• Winter 2022 – Spring 2023 – Traffic Forecast and Public Workshop #1 <br />• Spring 2023 – Winter 2023 – Draft Recommendations and Public Workshop #2 <br />• March 4th – Mebane Town Council <br />o Approved the goals, objectives, and recommendations of Segment A and the portion of <br />Segment B extending from Segment A to Frazier Road as presented in the US 70 <br />Multimodal Corridor Study. <br />o Endorsed the vision and recommendations of the US 70 Multimodal Corridor Study <br />outside of Mebane. <br />• March 25th – Hillsborough Town Commissioners <br />o Approved US 70 MCS for portions of Segment C, D, and F within Town Limits <br />o Endorse US MCS outside Town limits contingent on OUTBoard approval <br /> <br />Attachment 1 is a comprehensive list of all OUTBoard issues and how they are addressed. <br />Attachment 2 is the Final US 70 MCS. Staff recommends OUTBoard approval of multimodal <br />corridor study. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: No financial impact at this time. Local approval of study allows County <br />opportunity to pursue state and federal funding for transportation improvements along the <br />corridor. It also allows County staff to utilize it in development review process for the dedication <br />of right-of-way for future state funded improvements and the construction of bike/ped facilities <br />through enforcement of County’s Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are applicable to this <br />item: <br />• GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION AND INEQUITY
