3 <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br /> color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br /> origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential <br /> or economic status. <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> Bond Referendum <br /> 6. In a separate abstract for this April 16, 2024 meeting, the Board will consider establishing <br /> a 2024 Bond Education Committee in preparation for the proposed November 5, 2025 bond <br /> referendum. To facilitate the dissemination of information about the bond, this amendment <br /> allocates $50,000 from fund balance for use by the Committee. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENABLE FULL CIVIC PARTICIPATION <br /> Ensure that Orange County residents are able to engage government through <br /> voting and volunteering by eliminating disparities in participation and barriers to <br /> participation. <br /> Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation <br /> 7. The Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation has received $24,000 <br /> in donations for the Little River Regional Park and Natural Area, a Durham/Orange County <br /> Partnership, from the annual Trail Run. This donation from the Trail Heads organization <br /> will be utilized for park projects and equipment.
