US 70 Multimodal Corridor Study <br /> The second round of community workshops occurred in November and December of 2023.The workshop <br /> dates and locations are listed below: <br /> • November 19, 2023—2:00 PM —4:00 PM <br /> o Mebane City Hall — 106 East Washington Street, Mebane NC 27302 <br /> • December 2, 2023—2:00 PM —4:00 PM <br /> o Town Hall Annex— 105 E Corbin Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> • December 9, 2023—2:00 PM -4:00 PM <br /> o Whitted Building—300 W Tryon Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> These workshops were advertised by each partner agency in their respective communities. The project team <br /> presented a summary of the existing conditions data and findings and presented draft recommendations for <br /> each segment of the corridor. Feedback and responses from the second round of public workshops were <br /> incorporated into the final recommendations. <br /> In total, twenty-five individuals attended across all three events. Participants were encouraged to ask <br /> questions during the presentation about the recommendations and offer comments, which were noted by the <br /> project team. <br /> 2.5 Interactive Map <br /> For each round of community workshops, the project team welcomed corridor comments through an <br /> interactive map. The interactive map was prominently featured on the project website and promoted through <br /> the workshops and Study Team communications to the public. During the first round of workshops, residents, <br /> commuters, and other users of corridor were encouraged to contribute to the Study Team's understanding of <br /> the corridor by placing "markers"' on assets, issues, opportunities, and quick fixes on locations of interest.This <br /> map was open for comment for 8 weeks. Figure 2 below displays the distribution of the 55 interactive <br /> submissions by comment category.A plurality of submissions was vehicle-related current issues that <br /> addressed safety, visibility, speed, passing, and other operational problems. <br /> 9 The Plan Making Process <br />
