Right-turning vehicles may be stuck queueing in through lane <br /> impacting drop-off/pick-up at the middle school and high school. Hermon Church Road/Pleasant Green Road (AM peak only)— may block <br /> turn lane access and increase potential for rear-end crashes around curve. <br /> • NC 751 NB left-turn lane (PM peak only)— may exceed available storage. <br /> 4.3.6 Planned Improvements and Relevant Plans <br /> 4.3.6.1 North Carolina Department of Transportation 2020-2029 State Transportation <br /> Improvement Program (STIP) <br /> The current NCDOT 2020-2029 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) includes seven roadway <br /> projects in the project study area (see Figure 15). Each is summarized below: <br /> STIP# U-3109A— NC 119 <br /> U-3109A relocates NC 119 from 1-40/ 1-85 to north of SR 1921 (Mebane Rogers Road). The project was <br /> recently completed. <br /> STIP# RX-2007B— Norfolk Southern Railroad <br /> RX-2007B proposes to install active warning devices at Norfolk Southern Railroad crossing 735145T near <br /> Efland. Construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023. <br /> STIP# U-5845—SR 1009 (South Churton Street) <br /> U-5845 proposes to widen SR 1009 (South Churton Street) to multilanes from 1-40 to the Eno River in <br /> Hillsborough. Right of way acquisition is scheduled to begin in FY 2029, and construction is currently <br /> unfunded. <br /> STIP# 1-5984— 1-85 <br /> 1-5984 proposes to upgrade the 1-85/ NC 86 interchange in Hillsborough. Right of way is scheduled for FY <br /> 2024, and construction is scheduled for FY 2026. <br /> 42 Existing Conditions and Critical Issues <br />
