<br /> • GOAL: ESTABLISH SUSTAINABLE AND EQUITABLE LAND-USE AND
<br /> ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES
<br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of people of all races, cultures,
<br /> incomes and educational levels with respect to the development and enforcement
<br /> of environmental laws, regulations, policies, and decisions. Fair treatment means
<br /> that no group of people should bear a disproportionate share of the negative
<br /> environmental consequences resulting from industrial, governmental and
<br /> commercial operations or policies.
<br /> Economic Development
<br /> 2. On May 24, 2022 the Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing
<br /> approval of a lease agreement and economic incentive agreement for the expansion of
<br /> Well Dot, Inc.'s health care IT operations in Orange County, NC. The agreements provided
<br /> for the leasing of the County's former Visitors Bureau building and adjacent space
<br /> previously occupied by the Skills Development Center. Well Dot made a non-refundable,
<br /> initial deposit of $250,000 and will make rent payments totaling $404,576.04 annually to
<br /> the County for the first six (6) years of the lease. The performance agreement provides
<br /> initial funding to upfit the space based on employment and wage targets. The agreement
