72 <br /> COORDINATE <br /> Objective Ensure successful and timely coordination with other jurisdictions, <br /> government agencies, conservation partners, and funding entities in <br /> pursuing landscape conservation and corridor protection goals. <br /> Strategies include: <br /> • Convene and empower a landscape conservation advisory commission or working group (such as <br /> the Eno-New Hope Landscape Conservation Group)to, for example: <br /> o Support landscape conservation and corridor protection efforts <br /> o Establish landscape conservation goals and targets <br /> o Support fund-raising,pursue joint funding opportunities, or jointly encourage funding <br /> entities to support landscape conservation projects <br /> o Evaluate progress across the project area. <br /> • Work with existing interjurisdictional working groups to communicate and collaborate on <br /> landscape corridor protection priorities,including: <br /> o Work with regional metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs)and NCDOT to <br /> integrate wildlife crossing structure priorities into transportation planning and NCDOT <br /> projects. <br /> o Provide a landscape conservation liaison to relevant interjurisdictional working groups. <br /> • Share relevant planning data(especially spatial data layers) and priorities between jurisdictions <br /> and agencies, especially for boundary areas,to better incorporate landscape corridor protection <br /> priorities into site-specific planning decisions. <br /> A Landscape Plan for Wildlife Habitat Connectivity 59 <br />
