38 <br /> work with local leaders to ensure the arts are supported. <br /> o The OCAC, in partnership with fourteen community organizations, will <br /> beginning planning for Uproar 2025, which will drive visitors into the <br /> downtown communities of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough during <br /> a traditionally slow time of year. <br /> Goal 6: Ensure a high quality of life and lifelong learning that champions diversity, <br /> education at all levels, libraries, parks, recreation, and animal welfare. <br /> • Diversity <br /> o The OCAC will continue to prioritize projects that employ artists of <br /> color and impact diverse audiences through our Grassroots Arts <br /> Project Grants. <br /> o The OCAC will continue to purposely invite and prioritize communities <br /> of color and individuals with disabilities to participate in all activities at <br /> the Eno Arts Mill. <br /> • Education <br /> o The OCAC will continue to serve as an active partner in Arts in <br /> Education programming for Orange County through the ArtsCenter's <br /> Arts in Schools program, as well as through our grant program and <br /> involvement in other school initiatives. <br /> o The OCAC will strategize, with our community partners, ways to offer <br /> more, high quality arts experiences for residents of all ages, races, and <br /> socioeconomic backgrounds within Orange County through our grants <br /> program. <br /> • Quality of Life <br /> o Will work in partnership with municipalities and civic groups on future <br /> public art projects. <br /> o Will utilize the Eno Arts Mill to increase arts experiences for local <br /> residents. <br /> What are the concerns or emerging issues your board has identified for the <br /> upcoming year that it plans to address, or wishes to bring to the Commissioners' <br /> attention? <br /> • Capacity <br /> o The OCAC was able to add one additional FTE in 2023 through county <br /> support and by using '/2 of NC Arts Council Grassroots Funding. This has <br /> helped, but capacity still is a challenge in response to the growing requests <br /> and needs presented by the local community. The Eno Arts Mill is open most <br /> evenings and Saturdays. Managing the operations of a 10,000sf space, <br /> combined with other responsibilities such as grant administration as the Local <br /> Arts Agency for Orange County, continues to demonstrate that more staff are <br /> needed to fully serve the county and community. <br /> • Accessibility <br /> o The Eno Arts Mill project was designed to be financially self-sustaining.
