30 <br /> Describe this board/commission's activities/accomplishments in carrying out BOCC <br /> goal(s)/priorities, if applicable. <br /> Clean, green economic development: <br /> As a result of the tourism industry and Orange County's role within the state: <br /> • Domestic and international visitors spending totaled $236.29 up from $194.81 million <br /> in 2021. <br /> • Visitors spending represented a tax savings of$110.36 per county resident. <br /> The travel and tourism industry directly employed 1,812. <br /> Total payroll generated by the tourism industry in Orange County was $64.9 million. <br /> State tax revenue generated in Orange County totaled $9.1 million through state <br /> sales and excise taxes, and taxes on personal and corporate income. <br /> Describe the collaboration relationship(s) this particular board has with other advisory <br /> boards and commissions? <br /> The Orange County Visitors Bureau Board is comprised of representatives from all <br /> Orange County municipalities, downtown associations, historic and cultural <br /> organizations, and the state tourism coalition, as well as a partnership with the North <br /> Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association. <br /> Identify any activities this board/commission expects to carry out in 2024 as they relate <br /> to established BOCC goals and priorities.
