Hillsborough 27278 <br /> 919-732-3432 ext 102 ocabc(a-)_orangeabc.com <br /> Primary County Staff Contact: <br /> Amy Fowler <br /> How many times per month does this board/commission meet, including any special <br /> meetings and sub-committee meetings? <br /> The Board meets once per month on the 3rd Tuesday at 10:00am <br /> Brief Statement of Board/Commission's Assigned Charge and Responsibilities. <br /> The Orange County ABC Board is a political subdivision of the state and operated <br /> as an independent government agency inside Orange County. <br /> The Mission of the Orange County ABC Board and our employees is to serve our <br /> locality responsibly by controlling the sale of spirituous liquor, returning profits <br /> to Law Enforcement, Alcohol Education, and the County Fund while providing <br /> excellent service in customer friendly, modern and efficient stores <br /> What are your Board/Commission's most important accomplishments? <br /> In the current fiscal year a distribution of $700,000 is being made to the Orange <br /> County General fund. The board funded local Alcohol Law Enforcement agencies <br /> $168,000. The board also increased the amount available for community Alcohol <br /> Education and Rehabilitation grants for schools and local community <br /> organizations to $252,000. The distributions from the board for fiscal year 2022/23 <br /> total $1,120,000. The board also opened a new location in Southern Village and <br /> replaced the older store in Mebane with a new and much improved location. <br />
