While discussion at this BOCC meeting is focused on finalizing the 2003-2013 CIP, staff have
also begun development of the Manager's 2004-14 Recommended CIP, The calendar below
outlines planned milestones related to the 2004-14 CIP process:
April 20, 2004 Manager's Recommended 2004-14
County Capital Investment Plan presented
to BOCC
May 20, 2004 Manager's Recommended 2004-14
School Capital Investment Plan presented
to BOCC
May and June 2004 BOCC work sessions and discussion of
Manager Recommended County and
School Capital Investment Plans
June 23, 2004 BOCC adoption of 2004 Annual Operating
Budget and 2004-14 County and School
Capital Investment Plans
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Capital projects for FY 2003-04 have already been implemented
through adoption of a series of individual school and County capital project ordinances.
Approval of the 2003-13 CIP allows planning for various school and County capital projects to
continue, but does not constitute funding authorization for any projects beyond the 2003-04
project appropriations.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board review the tables of
2003-13 school and County capital projects, provide direction to staff concerning any required
changes, and then formally adopt the 2003-13 Orange County Capital Investment Plan to reflect
any such changes.
