BACKGROUND: Perkins & Will, the architects for 203 Greensboro, worked with the Town of Carrboro and Orange County to select Storr Office Environments ("Storr") as the furniture vendor for 203 Greensboro. The design team selected Storr, a Statewide Term Contract 420A vendor, based on its extensive and cost-effective furniture options for the library, classrooms, and office spaces. Additionally, using one vendor makes it easier to maintain the furniture throughout its life. As some furniture was not available on State Contract 420A, an informal bid process was used, with Storr being the only vendor to submit a bid of$52,542.49. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The total cost of the furniture (excluding tax is outlined below) and is covered by the Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE) budget for the 203 Greensboro project: Costs (excluding Furniture Taxes) Attachment 1 - Library Furniture $291,436.15 Attachment 2 - DSS and Other Furniture $350,304.23 Attachment 3 - Furniture not on State Contract $52,542.49 Total $694,282.87 SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There are no Orange County Social Justice Goal impacts associated with this item.
