If you are proposing to <br />collaborate with other <br />organizations on this project, <br />please briefly describe their <br />relevant experience to the <br />project and/or the target <br />population: <br />The founder of Burt’s Bees Foundation has supported the BETC <br />program throughout its existence and on behalf of numerous <br />organizations, including Don’t Waste Durham, Green New Deal for <br />Durham Coalition, Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association, NC Sierra <br />Club (Headwaters Group), New Hope Audubon Society, People’s <br />Alliance Economic Justice Team, People’s Alliance Environmental <br />and Climate Justice, Sunrise Durham Hub, The Climate Reality <br />Project (Durham Chapter), and Toxic Free NC <br />(https://indyweek.com/news/durham/cow-buffers-and-a-bit-of- <br />controversy/, Burt’s Bees founder Matt Kopac’s signed letter to the <br />Durham County manager and commissioners is available upon <br />request). We credit this connection with the welcome support we <br />received from the Burt’s Bees Foundation when we requested an <br />invitation to apply for their funding. <br /> <br />The Environmental Protection Agency is a federal government <br />organization whose mission is to conserve and protect the health of <br />our environment, and whose interest in successfully supporting <br />green infrastructure practices throughout NC and the United States <br />is legally required: https://www.epa.gov/green-infrastructure/green- <br />infrastructure-funding-opportunities. <br /> <br />The goal of the Triangle Community Foundation is to “generate <br />economically and environmentally resilient communities” <br />(https://trianglecf.org/impact/sustainable-communities/), toward which <br />they have been successfully funding projects since 1983 <br />(https://trianglecf.org/the-foundation/). <br /> <br />We have partnered with Jeanette O’Connor <br />(https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeanette -o-connor-8b617251/), director <br />of Lands and Waters Southand she has agreed to be one of our <br />landscape contractors and to incorporate and oversee bmp <br />plantings by USS teachers and children. <br /> <br />Frank Brown, owner at CFB Contracting LLC in Selma, North <br />Carolina (https://www.linkedin.com/in/frank-brown-b3801210/), is <br />our site-preparation contractor, who has worked for over 12 years <br />with the BETC program in Durham County. <br /> <br />Our cistern installer is Demetrius Thompson, owner of Triangle <br />Outdoor Living and Landscaping <br />(https://www.linkedin.com/in/demetrius -thompson-87a3a766/) in <br />Durham, NC.
