2836
Cost Per Unit of Impact $104 per lb. N
$170 per lb. P
$75,000 EPA
+OCCCA
Other Unit of Impact: Please describe here
costs to repair structures
otherwise damaged by
flooding and erosion (if
not for the bmp’s
installed)
incalculable
Cost Per Unit of Impact No cost incalculable

(Please feel free to add rows if necessary to show any additional units of impact.)
24. Please describe any avoided
financial costs or savings related
to the project and over what
period of time those costs will
be avoided/reduced:
Many low-income/underserved properties in Tom’s Creek of
Carrboro suffer from flooding and erosion that threatens their
homes’ physical structures. Eliminating persistent stormwater
issues on their properties can prevent their homes from requiring
structural repairs that can cost tens of thousands of dollars, thereby
avoiding those costs for years, decades, or into perpetuity.
Holistically bypassing roads and roofs for vegetative bmp’s that
naturally filter the stormwater that otherwise pollutes surrounding
waterways and drinking water sources could save hundreds of
thousands of dollars in 1) damage to personal and public property
that might otherwise be caused by high-volume fast-flowing
stormwater; 2) utilities costs associated with filtering drinking water
from otherwise polluted drinking-water sources; 3) recreational
income (fishing, tubing) that are negatively impacted by high water-
pollution levels, 4) environmental costs related to the dependence
of human quality of life and native wildlife and plants on healthy
waterways, 5) costs of social services for students who may
otherwise be unprepared for the work force after high-school (the
stipends these students receive for participation in the program
often go toward maintaining their families).
DocuSign Envelope ID: 2C2F66C4-424F-4660-AF8A-A623B6D7194E
