For college I went to school to study <br /> Biology at NC State. After graduation I like many young people today faced challenges finding <br /> housing. My wife and I originally lived in RTP but were priced out, and were lucky to find a nice <br /> home for us here in Orange. Since moving here I have served as a teacher at Orange High and <br /> have seen first hand the impact improper housing has had on my students, and would like to get <br /> involved. <br /> Please explain your reasons for wanting to serve on this board <br /> I believe housing is one of those most important issues facing society as a whole today. Not <br /> having affordable housing impacts many facets of life from; occupation availability, health, <br /> savings, etc. Additionally as someone who has had trouble finding affordable housing I know the <br /> importance of this board, and its job. By serving on this board I wish to have an impact on one of <br /> the pressing issues for the community. <br /> How would your particpation on this board contribute to the diversity of viewpoints? <br /> As a newcomer to the area as last year I can bring a fresh perspective that can differ from those <br /> who have are born and raised in Orange. Additionally as someone who has struggled with <br /> finding housing and as someone who directly works with people impacted by housing, I believe I <br /> bring a important perspective. <br /> Do you have any personal or business interest(s)that could create a conflict of interest <br /> (either real or perceived) if you are appointed to this board? <br /> None <br />
