OCAS will
work on figuring out how best to use this money and implement.
Information Items:
Dr. Strong's update
1. Holiday adoption special running from November 17-December 31". Adoption rates
currently are good.
2. Pictures with Santa at Wolfgang Bakery on December 10 - $10 donation per picture will
be given to OCAS.
3. Community spay/neuter- now working with Animal Kind, which is a statewide
organization, for assistance and this is helping fill the void since NC-SNAP is no longer
in Orange or Durham county.
4. We did not have rabies clinic in November in Orange county to minimize
risk of canine influenza.
Informal discussion:
1. Discussed how dog bites to humans are handled by OCAS and how dogs are declared
dangerous based on state law and county ordinances.
2. OCAS Holiday Potluck will be scheduled in 2nd week of December. ASAB volunteers
will bring dessert.
3. Discussion by ASAB members about more wildlife being noticed on outdoor cameras
and in person—coyotes, bears, bobcat have been seen around the county
Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 7:26 p.m.
Vote (Motion/2"d)
Mike Delafield
aye
Page 5of6
