z <br /> • Funds are not to replace current budget allocations for these program areas. <br /> The Health Department recently received is annual settlement for FY 00-01 of Medicaid <br /> maximization funds from the State. The settlement totals $72,930 and brings the total <br /> Medicaid maximization reimbursements received by Orange County over the last several <br /> years to more than $560,000. The department plans to use these funds for non-recurring <br /> items such as replacement of older equipment, meeting OSHA requirements, and potentially <br /> offending costs of redesigning clinical space at the Whitled Human Services Center. <br /> Attachment 3 of this abstract, Health Department Medicaid Maximization Capeas) Project <br /> Ordinance, provides for the receipt of the additional funds. No County dollars are required in <br /> order to receive these funds. <br /> Department of Social Services <br /> 3. The Department of Social Services has received notification from the State of additional <br /> CHORE (EDS)Ponds in the amount of$11,000. These funds will be used to purchase long- <br /> term care medical supplies and equipment m enable dients to remain in their own home <br /> instead of being institutionalized. These additional funds bring the current budget for this <br /> program to$5 ,000. (see Attachment 1, column 83). <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Financial impacts are Included in the background information above. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board of County Commissioners <br /> approve the attached budget ordinance and grant and capital project ordinance amendments_ <br /> I <br />
