5 <br /> 1 <br /> APPROVED 12/13/22 <br /> MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> BUSINESS MEETING <br /> November 1, 2022 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met for a Business Meeting on Tuesday, <br /> November 1, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitted Human Services Center in Hillsborough, NC. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Renee Price, Vice Chair Jamezetta Bedford, <br /> and Commissioners Amy Fowler, Sally Greene, Jean Hamilton, Earl McKee, and Anna <br /> Richards <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None. <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br /> Travis Myren, and Clerk to the Board Laura Jensen. (All other staff members will be identified <br /> appropriately below) <br /> Chair Price called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All commissioners were present. <br /> 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> Chair Price proposed removing item 6-a from the agenda for consideration at the <br /> November 10th work session, and adding a Native American Heritage Month proclamation to the <br /> agenda as item 4-b. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Greene, seconded by Commissioner Hamilton, to <br /> remove item 6-a from the agenda and add item 4-b. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> Chair Price dispensed with reading the public charge. <br /> 2. Public Comments (Limited to One Hour) <br /> a. Matters not on the Printed Agenda <br /> There was no one signed up to speak on matters not on the printed agenda. <br /> b. Matters on the Printed Agenda <br /> (These matters will be considered when the Board addresses that item on the agenda below.) <br /> 3. Announcements, Petitions and Comments by Board Members <br /> Commissioner Fowler said she attended the Behavioral Health Task Force meeting last <br /> Thursday, where the Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness presented about the <br /> connection between homelessness and mental health. She said the Task Force also heard from <br /> Alliance on their Network Adequacy Assessment. She said she also wholeheartedly supports <br /> Commissioner Richards' request from the last meeting to examine the possibility of providing <br /> universal pre-K. <br /> Commissioner Greene said, on behalf of the Broadband Task Force, there is an updated <br /> Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page on the website that people can refer to.
