1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: January 16, 2024 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-f <br /> SUBJECT: Manager Signed Intergovernmental Agreements <br /> DEPARTMENT: County Attorney <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> John Roberts, County Attorney, 245- <br /> 2318 <br /> PURPOSE: To acknowledge and ratify various intergovernmental agreements signed by the <br /> Manager as previously authorized by the Board of Commissioners (BOCC). <br /> BACKGROUND: The Board of Commissioners, through Section XV of the budget ordinance, <br /> authorizes the County Manager to execute intergovernmental agreements. Those agreements <br /> are then reported to the BOCC by the County Attorney. The following agreements were <br /> executed by the Manager in 2023: <br /> 1) Between the Town of Chapel Hill for the operation of the Visitors Center in Chapel Hill. <br /> Expires June 30, 2024. Revenue to County at least $200,000. <br /> 2) Between Orange County and Triangle Regional Waste Consortium. Expires June 30, <br /> 2024. Cost to the County up to $2,500. <br /> 3) Between Orange County and Triangle J Council of Governments (now Central Pines <br /> Regional Council) to provide solar power access to low income households. Expires <br /> June 30, 2024. Cost to the County up to $50,000. <br /> 4) Between Orange County and the City of Mebane for funding for joint economic <br /> development programs Article 46 collaborative outreach program. Expires June 30, <br /> 2024. Cost to the County up to $2,040. <br /> 5) Between Orange County and the North Carolina Department of Revenue for work related <br /> to Internal Revenue Service 401(k) issues. Expired June 30, 2023. Cost to the County <br /> up to $30,000. <br /> 6) Between Orange County and the North Carolina Department of Revenue for work related <br /> to Internal Revenue Service 401(k) issues. Expired June 30, 2023. Cost to the County <br /> up to $37,687. <br />
