49 <br /> 1 Slide #11 <br /> Action <br /> The Manager recommends the Board receive the <br /> information and provide comments on the US 70 <br /> Multimodal Corridor Plan. <br /> 2 <br /> 3 Chair Bedford asked about bicycle usage on Highway 70. <br /> 4 Nishith Trivedi said there are large gaps in the rural areas for bicycle access. <br /> 5 Chair Bedford said she drove Highway 70 this morning and it seems very narrow and <br /> 6 there is not much of a shoulder for safety. <br /> 7 Nishith Trivedi said bicycle and pedestrian safety will be addressed and things like <br /> 8 widening shoulders will be considered. <br /> 9 Commissioner Greene said that the recently replaced bridge over Highway 70 in <br /> 10 Hillsborough has no access for sidewalks or bicycles. <br /> 11 Nishith Trivedi said there were no existing sidewalks, so it was not factored into the <br /> 12 bridge replacement plans. <br /> 13 Commissioner Greene said there cannot be a widening of the new bridge, even if there <br /> 14 are sidewalks added to the roads around it in the future. <br /> 15 Nishith Trivedi said that was correct. <br /> 16 Chair Bedford said she agrees with Commissioner Greene about thinking forward with <br /> 17 multi-modal. She asked if there can be further meetings if not many people can attend during <br /> 18 the holiday period. <br /> 19 Nishith Trivedi said yes, and staff would conduct those. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 8.
