These staff members, <br /> income maintenance caseworkers, allow patients at the hospital to apply for Medicaid while at <br /> the hospital. There are currently Iwo staff members at the hospital although the hospital has <br /> indicated that a third may be needed at the new facility that serves women and children. <br /> The Social Services Board has reviewed this contad and recommends that it be continued. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The hospital reimburses Me County for the nonfedarel share of these <br /> positions, so there are no County costs. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Boats accept the Social <br /> Services Board recommendation and approve the contract with UNC Hospitals. <br />
