2 <br /> The Board also voted on Option A for the use of the settlement funds per the NC Memorandum <br /> of Agreement Opioid Settlement. <br /> In January 2023, Orange County received an additional payment of $44, 629 from the National <br /> Opioid Abatement Trust II (NOAT II). NOAT II is separate and distinct from the National <br /> Distributors/Janssen settlements. As of August 2, 2023, Orange County has received six (6) <br /> deposits for the Opioid Special Revenue Account in the amount of $1,337,170.67. The total <br /> allocation for Fiscal Year 2023-24 is $435,750.00. Fiscal Year 2024-25 allocations (Year 2 of <br /> Lantern Project, Freedom House and NC FIT) equal $374,902. A total of$526,518.67 remains for <br /> new opioid mitigation strategies. <br /> The Opioid Advisory Committee met on August 14, 2023, and September 11, 2023, and received <br /> and discussed a total of five proposals for use of Opioid Settlement Funds in Orange County. <br /> New funding requests include: <br /> Reintegration Support Network (RSN) <br /> ► $265,316 for a 2-Year Period ($132,658.00/year) <br /> OC-EMS Post-Overdose Response Team (PORT) <br /> ► Option 1- $1,060,132.75 (3-Year Period) <br /> ► Option 2 - $846,047.13 (3-Year Period) <br /> ► Option 3 - $582,378.50 (3-Year Period) <br /> Grow Your World <br /> ► $186,770.64 (Year 1); $192,170.64 (Year 2) <br /> ► $378,941.28 for a 2-Year Period <br /> Transition Support & Recovery <br /> ► $165,170 (Year 1); $165,630 (Year 2) <br /> Harm Reduction Coordinator <br /> ► $108,025/year for a 2-Year Period <br /> The Opioid Advisory Committee created a Funding Subcommittee to review each proposal in <br /> detail using the following criteria: <br /> • Must address one of the 12 mitigation strategies listed in Option A of the Settlement MOA <br /> ► 1. Collaborative strategic planning <br /> ► 2. Evidence-based addiction treatment <br /> ► 3. Recovery support services <br /> ► 4. Recovery housing support <br /> ► 5. Employment-related services <br /> ► 6. Early intervention <br /> ► 7. Naloxone distribution <br /> ► 8. Post-overdose response team <br /> ► 9. Syringe Service Program <br /> ► 10. Criminal justice diversion programs <br /> ► 11. Addiction treatment for incarcerated persons <br /> ► 12. Reentry programs <br /> • Program serves Orange County residents; population served <br /> • Government entity, 501c3, Non-profit Community Partner <br /> • Equity Impact <br /> • Evidence-Based Practices <br /> • Project Need (Orange County Data Supported) <br /> • Experience & Organizational Capacity <br /> • Budget & Budget Narrative <br />
