50 <br /> Each partner will maintain its independent status and communicate and collaborate with the Director of <br /> Collaborative Operations (DCO) for matters pertaining to the collaborative. All partners will assist in <br /> recruiting people to serve both as TSRC mentors,trainers, and participants.The initial partners are: <br /> 1.Wounded Healers of North Carolina, the lead organization,will assign overall administrative, <br /> cross-collaborative, and programming integration responsibilities to its Director of Collaborative <br /> Operations. WHNC will maintain all centralized records, monitor referrals, and coordinate <br /> mentor-matching and programming activities with partners. It will also be responsible for grant <br /> accounting and reporting. <br /> 2. Offer House will develop and seek NC state certification for a new, innovative reentry-specific <br /> Peer Support Training and Certification program. Currently,there is no such credentialling in NC. <br /> With permission, Offer House will use the state and/or nationally approved curriculum, materials <br /> and methods developed by Dr. Sandra Smith at Via Hope in Austin,TX as the basis for the NC <br /> training and certification program. It will also train peer support mentors with lived experience <br /> of incarceration and substance use disorders to assist and support others with reentry needs and <br /> guidance in social and cultural acclimation, overcoming barriers to reentry, and mental health <br /> needs.These needs may be related to depression,post incarceration disorder(PID), a form of <br /> PTSD4 <br /> 3.Success While In Transition (SWIT) will conduct its reentry training course based on 21 <br /> principles its leaders identified through lived experience in successful reentry.The SWIT training <br /> manual and methods are designed for use throughout TSRC initiatives, and to be exported to <br /> other reentry initiatives.Though we have explored reentry programs nationally,TSRC is unaware <br /> of any similar programs focusing on reentry skill development that include behavioral, social, <br /> cultural, and community integration components.These will complement the treatments and <br /> services being provided by local SUD treatment and support practitioners. <br /> 4. Reentry House Plus will provide transitional living and support for those recently returned, <br /> make cross organizational referrals, provide venues for TSRC programming for those within and <br /> outside its house, and promote participation in all TSRC events. <br /> S.STSG Reentry House (not to be funded under this grant) will provide transitional living and <br /> support for those recently returned, make cross organizational referrals, provide venues for TSRC <br /> programming for those within and outside its house, and promote participation in all TSRC <br /> events.These will occur in Durham. <br /> Other collaborations:The Collaborative will build on and strengthen close networking relationships with <br /> organizations separately serving the target population.These will include: <br /> • Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs; <br /> • In-and out-patient treatment programs for opioid and other substance use disorders (SUD); <br /> • Local health departments, including their prevention and harm reduction initiatives; <br /> • Narcotics Anonymous and similar programs; <br /> • County-based Criminal Justice Resource Programs,jails, prisons, and diversion programs; and <br /> 4 Facer-Irwin, E., Blackwood, N.
