Orange County Parks and Recreation Council —Appointment Discussion <br /> The Board discussed an appointment to the Orange County Parks and Recreation Council. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Orange County Parks and Recreation Council consults with and advises <br /> the Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation, and the Board of County <br /> Commissioners on matters affecting parks planning, development and operation; recreation <br /> facilities, policies and programs; and public trails and open space. <br /> The Board of County Commissioners appoints all 12 members with representatives from each of <br /> the county's townships plus its municipalities, as well as two (2) non-voting youth delegates. <br />
