1 <br /> APPROVED 1214/23 <br /> MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> JOINT MEETING WITH CHIEFS' ASSOCIATION AND WORK SESSION <br /> October 10, 2023 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met for a Joint Meeting with the Chiefs' <br /> Association and Work Session on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitted <br /> Human Services Center in Hillsborough, NC. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Jamezetta Bedford, Vice-Chair Earl McKee <br /> (arrived at 8:30 p.m.), and Commissioners Sally Greene (arrived at 8:23 p.m.), Amy Fowler, <br /> Jean Hamilton, Phyllis Portie-Ascott, and Anna Richards <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None. <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br /> Travis Myren, and Clerk to the Board Laura Jensen. (All other staff members will be identified <br /> appropriately below) <br /> ORANGE COUNTY CHIEFS' ASSOCIATION MEMBERS PRESENT: Chief Keith Hayes, Chief <br /> Kevin Brooks, Chief Phillip Nasseri, Chief Matthew Mauzy, Chief Brad Allison, Chief Ricky <br /> Baker, Chief Charles Bowden, Chief Jeff Borland, Chief Jeff Cabe, Chief Will Potter, and Fred <br /> Stipe, Board Chair of South Orange Rescue Squad <br /> Chair Bedford called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All commissioners were present, <br /> except for Vice-Chair McKee and Commissioner Greene who were meeting with residents <br /> regarding broadband access in Northern Orange County. <br /> Charles Bowden, President of the Fire Chiefs Association, introduced Mike Causey, <br /> Commissioner for the NC Department of Insurance. <br /> 1.
