The grant did not create new funding streams. <br /> but combined funds appropriated to the Department on Aging, Department of Social Services, <br /> and Joint Orange Chatham Community Action Agency, (JOCCA) to administer programs for <br /> senior citizens. <br /> The block grant requires the Board of Commissioners to approve the recommended funding <br /> plan. The recommended funding for the 2002-2003 year Is$399,001. The amount is $5,811 <br /> lass than 2001-2002 grant amount of$404,012. The Home and Community Care Technical <br /> Advisory Committee reviewetl the plan on April 23, 2002 and supported the continual of current <br /> funding levels. The Advisory Board on Aging also reviewed the committee's plan on <br /> June 14, 2002 and recommended the approval. The Funding Plan is attached. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Home and Community Care Block Grant to the County will decrease <br /> $5,811 for fiscal year 2002-2003. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S: The Manager recommends that the Board approve me 2002-2003 <br /> Home and Community Care Block Grant Funding Plan and authorize the Chair to sign grant <br /> documents. <br />
