In June 2022 the County Manager charged to the Orange County Office of Equity and <br /> Fairbanks, Orange Inclusion (OCOEI), formerly the Human Relations office was to be a more cohesive unit, <br /> County Office of increase visibility and prioritize equity and inclusion in Orange County. We have started <br /> Equity ) <br /> Inclusion <br /> Equity ) intentionally rebuilding and mapping out a path forward. In January 2023 the OCOEI <br /> adopted a new mission and vision statement. The Vision statement: OCOEI rejects <br /> CC racism, discrimination, and injustice. Therefore, in acknowledgment of past harms, we <br /> Bonnie Hammersley strive to cultivate, impact, and unleash our collective responsibility to ensure no group of <br /> people bears the burden of inequity and exclusion in our community. The Mission <br /> R E statement: To promote policies, practices, and programming that create bridges, address <br /> Equity and Inclusion disparities, and dismantle barriers throughout Orange County. To begin a portion of the <br /> update <br /> work we have had an equity listening session with staff, a strategy session with staff and a <br /> two-day DEI motivational training that focuses on "diversity from the inside out" method. <br /> ATTACH M E N T S: As recently as last month, we sent out a short survey to gauge the current equity <br /> UGUEi Community engagement or involvement at the divisional level. <br /> Events <br /> Racial Equity/DEI Highlights: <br /> • One Orange- Elected Officials Equity Training (October & November 2022) <br /> • Equity Coffee and Chat (December 2022) <br /> • Equity Strategy Session (February 2023) <br /> • Racial Equity Employee Survey (May-June 2023) <br /> • First ever, Juneteenth Celebration (Collaborative effort with Orange <br /> County Public Library)- (June 2023) <br /> • Two-Day DEI Motivational Session (September 2023) <br /> • One Orange- Racial Equity Dashboard (September 2023) <br /> • DEI Internal Department Survey (October 2023) <br /> One Orange Racial Equity Index Dashboard (link): <br /> https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/2b39cf29bcc644a7898fl474cO53fbOe/ <br />
