Density testing will be performed in accordance with ASTM D-6938 with
a nuclear gauge, ASTM D1556 with sand cone method or ASTM 2937 drive tube method. Additionally, we
can perform Standard Proctor compaction tests (ASTM D-698) and Atterberg limits testing (ASTM D-4318)
prior to fill placement to aid in our density testing.
Storm Structure Foundation Observations
After excavation of the foundation subgrades, the subgrades can be evaluated by our personnel to confirm
planned depth and dimensions and “clean” excavation bottom, note seepage of water and suggest and
observe corrective measures at problem areas. We will confirm that exposed soils beneath foundations
meet the required allowable bearing pressure in accordance with the project plans and specifications. If
soft bearing soils are encountered, recommendations will be made for repairs.
Reinforcing Steel
Our personnel can observe the placement of reinforcing steel within the foundations to check its
conformance with the project plans and specifications for proper size, grade, spacing cover, cleanliness,
length, location and types of splices and report its conformance with the plan and specifications.

Cast-In-Place Concrete Construction

Sample fresh concrete and perform testing in accordance with ASTM C-143 for Slump, ASTM C-1064 for
Temperature and ASTM C-231 or ASTM C-173 for air content during concrete placement. Representative
4-inch by 8-inch concrete cylinders will also be cast in accordance with ASTM C-39 for Compressive
Strength Testing. Pick-up and return test specimens to our laboratory within 24 hours after casting.
Laboratory curing, compressive strength testing and reporting of concrete cylinder test specimens.

Miscellaneous Sitework Observations
Our personnel can observe the placement and compaction of utility trench backfill and perform density
testing of these materials to confirm adequate compaction. We can observe and test miscellaneous
concrete work (i.e. concrete pavement) to include slump tests, air content, unit weight and temperature.
Reporting to Designated Parties

Our personnel will discuss observations and test results with appropriate site personnel daily. This
includes maintaining a discrepancy log that will be communicated to the project team on a regular basis.
Daily field reports will be generated to document our observations and test results. These reports will be
emailed to the contractor and other designated project team members. Each field report will be reviewed
by our project manager and/or senior engineer and then issued in a typed format to the designated
DocuSign Envelope ID: B64BB097-D2D0-4F1C-B29D-09757C8A1D1C
