<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />EXHIBIT A <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />5410 Trinity Rd. <br />Suite 102 <br />Raleigh, NC 27607 <br />P 919.866.4951 <br />F 919.859.5663 <br />www.timmons.com <br />The existing legacy stormwater basin located at Gravelly Hill Middle School is proposed to be converted <br />to a stormwater wetland following 15A NCAC 02H .1054 - Minimum Design Criteria for Stormwater <br />Wetlands and guidance provided in the NCDEQ Stormwater Design Manual, Part C-4. The purpose of the <br />project is to provide a design and construct a stormwater wetland that meets state and local guidelines <br />for stormwater management to provide water quality and quantity benefits to the County while taking <br />the opportunity to educate students and the public about stormwater issues and wetland benefits in the <br />process, both during and post construction. <br /> <br />The following tasks are proposed in support of the project objectives as an addition to the current scope. <br /> <br />Task 1 – Construction Review and Geotechnical Support <br /> <br />Construction Submittal/RFI review <br />The Engineer shall provide consultation during construction on a fixed fee basis. Tasks may include: <br />a) Review of contractor fee proposal <br />b) Submittal review <br />c) Shop drawing review <br />d) Respond to Request for Information (RFI) <br />e) Investigation of proposed contract change orders <br /> <br />Should funding under this task become exhausted, an additional services work order shall be negotiated <br />for additional support if needed. <br /> <br />Geotechnical Support <br />Under this Agreement, Timmons Group will provide construction materials testing and special inspection <br />services with potential services, exclusions, and assumptions. It is anticipated that the fee would cover up <br />to approximately two weeks of field testing time plus one week of half days. Tasks may include the following <br />as requested: <br />Subgrade Evaluation <br />Our personnel can visually evaluate the contractor grading and proof rolling structural areas for the <br />spillway area to verify that the areas have been stripped and to document that objectionable soils have <br />been removed, and/or loose soils have been stabilized. Soils subgrade conditions prior to fill placement <br />or at finished grade. This evaluation will be performed through proof rolling to help identify areas which <br />pump, rut, or deflect under passage of construction equipment.
