Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary <br />Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br />1.2 SUMMARY <br />A. Section Includes: <br /> <br />1. Samples of existing mortar for texture, strength, and color matching. <br />2. Repairing damaged brick masonry, including replacing both missing and damaged units. <br />3. Removal of mortar and tuckpointing of mortar joints in brick masonry. <br />4. Removal of mortar and installation of joint sealant in brick masonry. <br />5. Cutting of new control joint and installation of joint sealant in brick masonry. <br /> <br />B. Related Section: <br /> <br />1. Refer to additional specification sections regarding installation of below-grade <br />waterproofing at exterior masonry walls. <br />2. Refer to additional specifications sections regarding removal and replacement of existing <br />joint sealants and installation of new joint sealants at new control joint locations. <br />1.3 INFORMATIONAL SUBMITTALS <br />A. Submit Product Data: For each type of product. <br />1. Include material descriptions and installation procedures. <br />2. Include recommendations for product application and use. Include test data substantiating <br />that products comply with requirements. <br />B. Samples: <br />1. Mortar: Submit sets of mortar that will be left exposed in the form of sample mortar <br />strips, 6 inches long by 1/2 inch wide, set in aluminum or plastic channels. If approved by <br />the Owner and Designer, the Contractor may be allowed to install mortar sample at or <br />adjacent to a repair area to allow for comparison with adjacent mortar. <br />a. The Contractor must be prepared to provide a range of close color samples and <br />must provide additional samples if requested to obtain a match that is acceptable to <br />the Owner and Designer. <br />b.
