9/2/2020 <br /> <br />32 92 00 TURF AND GRASSES Page 4 of 11 <br />1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br />A. Planting Restrictions: Plant during one of the following periods. Coordinate planting periods with <br />initial maintenance periods to provide required maintenance from date of Substantial <br />Completion. Weather Limitations: Proceed with planting only when existing and forecasted <br />weather conditions permit planting to be performed when beneficial and optimum results may be <br />obtained. Apply products during favorable weather conditions according to manufacturer's <br />written instructions. <br />1. Grass Type: <br />a. Warm Season Grasses: <br />1) Fall Season: Sept. 1 to Oct. 15 <br />2) Spring Season: May 15 to July 15 <br />B. Water: During the construction and maintenance periods, water will be provided by the <br />Contractor. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 SEED <br />A. Grass Seed: Fresh, clean, dry, new-crop seed complying with AOSA's "Journal of Seed <br />Technology; Rules for Testing Seeds" for purity and germination tolerances. <br />B. Seed Species: Seed of grass species as follows, with not less than 95 percent germination, not less <br />than 85 percent pure seed, and not more than 0.5 percent weed seed: <br />1. Refer to Contract Drawing. <br />2.2 TURFGRASS SOD <br />A. Turfgrass Sod: Number 1 Quality/Premium, complying with "Specifications for Turfgrass Sod <br />Materials" in TPI's "Guideline Specifications to Turfgrass Sodding." Furnish viable sod of <br />uniform density, color, and texture, strongly rooted, and capable of vigorous growth and <br />development when planted. <br />B. Turfgrass Species: Refer to Contract Drawings. <br />2.3 INORGANIC SOIL AMENDMENTS <br />A. Lime: ASTM C 602, agricultural liming material containing a minimum of 80 percent calcium <br />carbonate equivalent and as follows: <br />1.
