113 <br /> lib <br /> Findings and recommendations specific to the US 70 corridor include: <br /> ➢ AMP update recommendations that may impact US-70 or adjacent properties and intersections. <br /> ➢ Require right-of-way dedication-based on the"Street Cross-Section Requirements"below-for all development <br /> throughout the Planning Area and acquire necessary easements for infrastructure improvements. <br /> ➢ Work with NCDOT to pursue funding to advance the following improvements: <br /> o Install a traffic light at high frequency crash intersections to ensure safety for all users and assist traffic <br /> flow. <br /> o Install a crosswalk with a flashing light at key intersections in the planning area. <br /> ➢ Consider a provision that any development having ingress/egress in the Planning Area either construct its fair <br /> share of recommended improvements or provide payment in lieu of such improvements. <br /> ➢ Work with developers,the Orange County Economic Development Department,and Orange County Planning <br /> and Inspection Department to implement access management recommendations. <br /> ➢ Identify and promote transportation projects in the planning area to respective planning organizations and <br /> NCDOT. <br /> ➢ Pursue NCDOT SPOT Safety projects for key intersections throughout the planning area. <br /> ➢ Support NCDOT's Complete Streets Policy,which was being updated at the time this Plan was prepared,to <br /> address multi-modal travel and protect pedestrian and bicycle circulation around residential subdivisions and <br /> commercial areas. <br /> ➢ Take transit services into consideration as the E-B-M AMP is implemented.Currently,Orange County <br /> ➢ Public Transportation operates one route in the planning area called <br /> ➢ Intersection improvements for US-70 include: <br /> o West bound left turn lane. <br /> o East bound right turn lane. <br /> o Northbound right and left turn lane. <br /> o Recommendations include a roundabout at US-70/1-85 Connector. <br /> 2019 Eno New Hope Plan <br /> The goal of this project is to provide an actionable plan for ensuring wildlife habitat connectivity across the landscape of <br /> the Eno River and New Hope Creek-Jordan Lake watersheds through minimizing the impacts from future land uses <br /> changes. <br /> 111 US 70 Multimodal Corridor Study Existing Conditions Report <br />
