100 <br /> lib <br /> 1.7.2 Statewide Transportation Plans <br /> bb. <br /> NCDOT Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan, "WalkBike NC" (2013) <br /> The State Division of Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation convened stakeholders and community members statewide <br /> to review and update the State's bicycling routes(among other objectives).The plan adopted an alternate alignment of the <br /> MST that takes the route south of US 70,just east of the study corridor, at Trollingwood Road and back up toward US 70 <br /> at Mt.Willing Road. <br /> 1.7.3 Countywide Transportation Plans <br /> 2011 Orange County Unified Development Ordinance (Updated 2015) <br /> Orange County has adopted zoning classifications and subdivision regulations to protect the natural environment and to <br /> promote compatible development of land.The Unified Development Ordinance(UDO)was originally adopted in 2011 <br /> and has been updated as recently as 2015.The UDO includes the following relevant items: <br /> ➢ The Ordinance outlines an Overlay District called the Efland-Cheeks Highway 70 Corridor(ECOD)for U.S.70 <br /> and Efland Cheeks Highway containing the parcels adjacent to highway 70 within the Cheeks townships.The <br /> District outlines the requirement for all conversion of non-residential land uses and any non-residential land <br /> disturbing activity to be reviewed then permitted by the Planning Director. <br /> ➢ The ordinance allows for mixed--but compatible--land uses by permit that enhance and protect the existing <br /> single-family land uses. Non-residential uses within the Highway 70 Corridor Overlay District are limited to <br /> professional office and similar institutional uses and shall not make up more than 40%of the corridor,outside of <br /> the pre-designated commercial areas. <br /> ➢ All lots shall be granted at least one ingress and egress point per road front unless access can be provided through <br /> some internal means.
