The Landscape Plan <br /> identifies criteria for barrier roads and potential crossing locations,along with potential actions to preserve and enhance <br /> connectivity within and between wildlife habitats.This information will help guide design recommendations for US 70 <br /> that will benefit both traffic safety and the environment. <br /> Rear end and frontal impact crashes are the most common crash types.Rear end collisions make up almost half of the <br /> crashes along the corridor which suggests drivers may not be anticipating the transitions occurring between more rural <br /> and more urban conditions.The high proportion of rear end crashes and frontal impact crashes at isolated intersections <br /> along the corridor point to unexpected stops in traffic as a contributing factor possibly due to increased turning volumes <br /> and at isolated signalized intersections due to queues at red lights.
